| Mid-Size Ventilator |
|
In operation, the pump draws room air (or non-explosive gases), into the cylinder during the first half of the pumping cycle. In the second half of the cycle, the gaseous contents of the cylinder are delivered to the animal under pressure through the mechanically- synchronized valve system.
Expired air is returned by the elastic action of the lung and can be passed into the room atmosphere, recycled through a suitable conditioning network, or collected for analysis. |
| SPECIFICATIONS | |
| Remarks | Primarily intended for subjects that require
rates of 5 to 100 breaths per minute. Best suited for routine investigations where maintenance of blood gas levels can usually be accomplished by altering rate and/or volume. |
| Output (all models) | 100cc cylinder Volume: 14 to 100cc
per cycle 70cc cylinder Volume: 3.5 to 70cc per cycle 50cc cylinder Volume: 2.0 to 50cc per cycle 30cc cylinder Volume: 1.5 to 30cc per cycle |
| Features | Adjustable volume and rate control in operation.
Calibrated volume output window facilitates easy accurate adjustments. Full
volume displacement with each cycle, regardless of volume setting. The NEMI Scientific Model 152-D Mid-Range Animal Ventilators are the same specifications described in the Model 151 with the addition of a dual phase function and a digital readout of breath rate. |
| Remarks | Suitable for all long-term applications where ideal end tidal pCO2 levels and/or respiratory activity can best be maintained by altering the phase ratio of inspiration to expiration over a range of 1.2 to 2.1. |
