Air Sequential Sampler
Model Microdust PM10

Both European Union (UE,1996) and Environment Italian Ministry (DM 25/11/94) have pointed out the importance of a constant control of the exposition to smaller aerosol, or on the other hand with an aerodynamic diameter smaller to 10 µm (thoracic fraction or PM 10). These particles are responsable of important negative healty effect for the respiratory apparatus.

Main Characteristics
  • Fiberglass frame, insulated with polyurethane 20 mm high, guarantees waterproof and overheating protection (sequential sampler PM10 is been studied to be exposed in urban areas)
  • Operative temperature: -10 / +40°C
  • PTFE plate sampler where 8 filter adapters (for 37mm filters)
  • Selector: aluminium cyclone with a cut-point of 10 µm
  • Pump: membrane
  • Flow rate: 8 I/min
  • Programming/ memorizzation : by memory card
  • Power supply : a rete, 220V - 50 Hz
  • Power consumption: 50 Watt
  • Dimensions: 58 x 30 x 29 cm (h x w x d)
Removing the main chamber, It is possible to sample the total particulates. Then, changing the 8 filter holders with 8 tubes holders or denuder lines, it is possible to convert Microdust PM10 in a gas sequential sampler.
The sampler is equipped with the state-of-the-art microprocessor function electronic control system. Data storing, transfer and programming is performed by means of a handy smart card. The sampler is equipped with 2 memory cards to be used by means of the special program unit and software provided. By the software " Smart Card Programmer" supplied, it is possible to set starting / ending data and time (or sampling period) for every channel (with a maximum value of 24 hours).

Other Characterictics

Data shown on the display:
-Filter or channel number
-Strarting data and time
-Ambient temperature
-Sampling temperature
-Sampled volume
-Atmospheric pressure
-∆P over the filter

Duty Cycle: By this fonction it is possible to program sampling time spaced out delay time so that at the end of functioning, for example 24 hours, over the filter is passed an air quantity less than in case of continuous functioning. In this way its is possible to not overcharge the filter in dusty extrem condition, also keeping its workability within the same sampling period.

Allarms:
- Flow rate: If active it signals the overcoming of the ±10% of the set flow rate, and the sampling is interrupted.
- Temperature: If there is a ± 5°C difference between the ambient temperature and the inside temperature of the instrument, the sampling is interrupted.

Woking Principle
The air is drown true the cyclcone wich is able to separate the PM. In order to guarantee a right sampling, the Pm10, before to impact on the membrane, passes through a calm chamber

Accessories
  • Alumunium cyclone (10 µm cut-off)
  • Special tripod wich allows overturning the apparatus so as to make the filter recycling and replacement operation easier
  • Complet kit for filter adapters (diam. 37 mm)
