L'asphaltanalysator

Description
12 years of success. The innovative technology of the 1997 introduced closed system extraction method named Asphaltanalysator remains almost unchanged until today.
The basic principle of the Asphaltanalysator for the determination of sieve analysis, binder content and if requested binder quality of bituminous mixes by

  • elution of binder using a washing chamber and a rotating sieve drum XXseparate filler and binder/solvent in a high performance centrifuge
  • attached distillation unit to separate binder and solvent
  • drying of minerals and filler and re-use of solvent
in a closed system still remains the best available technology. This does not mean that the machines have remained unchanged since 1997. Several details have been modified in the meantime and further development and innovation is going on. Nowadays machines

  • have a new centrifuge with almost double endurance
  • are equipped with a diagnostic inspection system
  • are available with several options to further reduce the direct contact with solvent (20-1100E200 / 20-1100E220 / 20-9830)

One of the most essential points of innovation and further development is the again reduced solvent loss per extraction.
The value calculated according our internal quality criteria was stated for earlier supplied machines with < 50 ml. For the new Asphaltanalysator this important value can be stated with < 20 ml allowing us to award the machine with the infraTest ecological seal of approval ecoTest.

Dissolving Washing Cycle
As an option for 20-1100. A manually operated valve and a special program enables to preselect the solvent quantity and running time of the first washing cycle and to collect this mix.

By an appropriate quantity of solvent and running time most of the bitumen including aged bitumen in case of recycling materials is already dissolved during this washing cycle and the mix of appr. 500 ml can be collected at the recovery still direct into a rotary evaporator flask. The quantity of bitumen included in the mix is normally sufficient for softening point, penetration or elastic reset tests. In addition we recommend the option 20-1100E200.

Sampling Device

As an option for 20-1100 and installed at the recovery still. This unit permits the connection of a rotary evaporator flask 500 or 1000 ml (20 -1300…) so that the environment will not be polluted with any solvent during collection.
