Anabat SD2 Bat Detector

The AnaBat™ SD2 Bat Detector lets you monitor bat calls for species identification and activity measurement. It uses frequency division and zero crossing analysis to provide the cleanest output signals with the lowest possible data rate. The bat call’s exact position can be simultaneously recorded by connecting a global positioning system (GPS) to the Anabat™ SD2 Bat Detector.

Advantages
CF COMPATIBLE
The AnaBat™ SD2 Bat Detector uses a compact flash (CF) memory card to store bat call data. For example, a 512MB card could store about 2 months worth of data. The serial number of each SD2 is embedded in the stored data, to identify which detector recorded what data.
GPS RECORDER
The exact position of a bat call can be simultaneously recorded by connecting a global positioning system (GPS) to the AnaBat™ SD2 Bat Detector.
REAL TIME CLOCK (RTC)
An internal real time clock tracks the date and time bat call data is recorded.
RTC WAKE UP
Using the real time clock the Anabat™ SD2 Bat Detector can be programmed to ‘wake up’ at a specified date and time, conserving battery power until the detector is required.
PROGRAMMABLE MONITORING
Similarly, the Anabat™ Bat Detector can be programmed to monitor for bat calls between certain hours (e.g. 6 to 11pm). This allows you to conserve battery power when remotely recording bat activity.
REPLACEABLE TRANSDUCER
Model STI (standard microphone), optional Hi-Mic (for use on extension cables), optional Lo-Mic (for low frequency bats).
INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL BATTERIES
The Anabat™ SD2 Bat Detector can be powered from either 4 internal ‘AA’ size batteries (suitable for overnight or shorter term use) or a 12V external battery for extended use in the field.

UPGRADED FEATURES FROM SD1 MODEL
The SD2 model features several new additions for customer convenience:
- Lighter Weight: 440g, previously 505g
- Easier firmware upgrades - just install the new firmware on a CF card and load it into the SD2. It’s that easy!
- More input/ output connection points to PC: Headphone socket, USB, serial port, 12V power in, HF output, digital I/O for interfacing to other equipment.
- Additional data division 4 restored
- Writes log files on your CF card to record its status during each monitoring session.
- Digital I/O port allows SD2 to connect to other equipment – e.g. a weather station or light sensor.
The AnaBat™ SD2 Bat Detector also features a voice recorder, selectable audio and data division ratios, low battery indicator, audio mute and calibration tone and more.
Titley Scientific’s AnaLookW™ sound analysis software program is included in your AnaBat™SD2 Bat Detector purchase to produce sonograms from your recordings. Comprehensive user manuals and a USB cable connection are also included.
