Description

The byko-drive Auto matic Appli ca tor is an eco nom i cal film appli ca tor that improves the con sis tency of draw downs. When more than one oper a tor is draw ing down the same coat­ing or ink, the dry film appear ance will vary because of dif fer­ent draw down tech niques. Draw down speed and pres sure on the appli ca tor tool will impact the result. Film thick ness, gloss, opac ity, and color can vary with dif fer ing draw down tech niques.

The byko-drive is avai l able with a vac uum plate or glass plate with clamp. Appli ca tor bars, U-shaped bars, appli ca tor frames, film cast ing knifes, and wire-wound rods are accept­able appli ca tors. The byko-drive has a com pact design con­sist ing of a light-weight alu minum chas sis and impact resis­tant thermo-plas tic cover.

The byko-drive has two user selectable speeds:

  • 10 mm/sec - com plies with ISO method 11998
  • 1 in/sec - same speed setting as the BYK-Gardner Mechanical Drive
