Car Distance Measurer

A two wheeled, pneumatic tyred measurer which can be attached to the towing ball on any vehicle. This new unit has an encoder to detect the rotation of the measuring wheels. It incorporates extensive pre-scaling to provide a read out in any chosen units to an accuracy of better than 1% - vastly exceeding the accuracy of the vehicle's on-board odometer, unlike which it can also be used for very short distances.

The encoder is linked by cable to a display unit (to plug into the vehicle's cigar lighter), which has two 8 igit LCD counters with 8mm high digits in a free standing case, The display unit has manual push button to reset to zero and the Measurer can be towed at up to 65KPH (40 MPH).
