Conventional Fume Hoods direct the airflow through the sash opening and under the air foil. The operator controls the face velocity by adjusting the sash position.

The Uniflow Conventional Fume Hoods are specially designed for the Variable Air Volume (VAV) control system.

Uniflow Conventional Fume Hoods are designed for service with or without Variable Air Volume (V.A.V.) control.

The diagram details airflow characteristics of the conventional fume hood design. Without V.A.V., C.F.M. remains nearly constant while face velocity varies with sash position.

With V.A.V. control, face velocity is constantly monitored and adjustable to a pre-set level regardless of sash positions. Variable Air Control increases operator safety and reduces energy loss.

1-Uniflow Conventional Fume Hood with vapor proof fluorescent light. Molded, one piece seamless liner with coved corners for ease of cleaning. The superstructure is constructed of fire retardant, chemical resistant fiberglass, using a minimum of metallic parts. Easy touch vertical-raising viewing sash is constructed of 1/4" clear laminated safety glass with frame and track fabricated of chemical resistant plastic. Optional clear chemical resistant acrylic viewing sash is available for hydrofluoric applications. Conventional Fume Hood is equipped with variflow baffle to efficiently direct air through fume chamber, baffle is easily removed for cleaning. System includes induced air plenum and automatic air by-pass. Vapor proof two tube fluorescent light fixture mounted behind glass panel with column mounted control switch. Hood is shipped completely assembled. Also offered in 48" high Low Profile Model. Same as No. 1 above- except equipped with built-in fiberglass exhaust blower with polypropylene impellar wheel and column mounter control switchs. Blower motor to be 115 volt, 60 cycle, A.C.
