The Caleva Tapped (Bulk) Density Tester is an important tool for checking the characteristics of powders and granulate. The Caleva TDT is offered to hold either one (TDT1) or two (TDT2) cylinders.

The unit complies with USP method 2, EP and DIN ISO EN787, part 11. According to the specification laid down, the Caleva TDT taps 250 times per minute (accuracy ± 15) and has a stroke height of 2 mm. According to the specification, tapping has to be performed metal on metal. Because this is quite noisy, Caleva introduced a rubber O ring in the test station which eliminates most of the noise. When 100% USP/EP compliance is required, the O-ring can be removed by the user within seconds with a pen or screw driver.

Glass cylinders with 100ml, 250 ml and 500 ml are available for connection to the TDT series. For ease of handling, the glass cylindersare fitted to the TDT by a quick release mechanism. The test duration can either be set in time or number of total strokes via the numeric membrane keypad. Test data and remaining run-time can be checked during the test on the illuminated 4-line LCD
