Features:
• Improved Micro Thermal Conductivity Sensor for enhanced sensitivity
• Readings in ppm
• New graphical icon display menu
• Rapid detection, particularly sensitive to helium
• Reliable, stable and repeatable readings
• Conveniently calibrated against helium
• LCD back lit display
• Hand held & robust

Historically, when collecting soil vapor samples as part of a vapor intrusion evaluation, there has been no way to identify whether a soil sample has been diluted by ambient air. The use of a tracer gas has introduced a QA/QC measure to verify the integrity of the soil vapor probe seal. Typically, helium is used as a tracer because it is readily available, non-toxic and can be monitored with a portable detector. The preferred scenario for use of a tracer gas is to use a portable monitoring device to analyze a sample of soil vapor for the tracer before and after sampling for the compounds of interest. The advantage of this method is that tracer sampling results can be used in real time to confirm the integrity of the probe seals.
