Reusable system saves time and labor expense associated with mortar capping of individual concrete cylinders for compression testing. The handling of hot capping compound with ladles and melting pots is eliminated. Systems are available for 6x12", and 4x8", cylinders.

Order Retainer Sets and Pads separately. Pads and retainers for 4" (102mm) and 6" (152mm) diameter specimens comply with latest version of ASTM C1231. The 50 durometer pads meet tensile strength and durometer requirements of AASHTO T22 and are appropriate for ASTM C 1231 from 1500 to 600 psi (10 to 40 MPa). 60durometer pads cover most common design strengths from 2500 to 7000 psi (17 to 50 MPa). 70 durometer may be used for strength from 4000 to 7000 psi (28 to 50 MPa) and with qualification testing by user, up to 12,000 psi (80 MPa). The 6" retainer sets meet "acceptable configuration" of AASHTO T22-92 and do not require acceptance testing as do alternative systems
