Life Science Analyzer
Genova
The Genova is an efficient, high performance grating
spectrophotometer designed for the busy molecular biologist. With
RNA/DNA, oligonucleotide, protein, and O.D. analysis software on
board, results can be obtained quickly and accurately.
|
| FEATURES |
- Photometric Mode with Selectable Wavelength
- On-board RNA/DNA Analytical Software
- On-board Protein Analytical Software
- Method Storage
- Scanning Capabilities
- RS232 Port
- Security Lock
- Versatile Sampling System
- Small Footprint
|
The Genova is extremely versatile offering
method storage, photometric operation, a selectable wavelength range of
198 to 100 nm, and scanning capabilities. The Genova can measure down
to 50µl of a sample and as little as 20µl with the micro capillary accessory.
This lightweight, compact analyzer can fit easily anywhere
in the lab, while the 5-button keypad and the large LCD allow for effortless
interfacing. Upon start up, the Genova self-calibrates at three wavelengths,
assuring optimal operation. With a single touch of the print key, results
and G.L.P. compliant information can be printed or downloaded to a PC
through the RS232 port.
The Genova features a xenon lamp, which has the advantage
of offering a broad spectral source with high-energy light throughout
the wavelength range. The xenon lamp flashes at a high rate, extending
lamp life and lowering operation costs. This innovative tool is covered
under a 3-year warranty and is priced to fit any budget.
| The onboard
software has the wavelengths, calculations and factors necessary for
analysis, including the following. |
- Protein: Bradford, Lowry, Biuret, Biccinchonic,
and Direct UV.
- 260/280 ratio and 260/230 ratio with correction
by subtraction at a third wavelength and multiplication by factors.
- ssDNA, dsDNA, RNA, Oligonucleotides and OD 600
|
Also, a variable ratio mode allows the user to change
the wavelengths and factor allowing for fine adjustment and greater accuracy.
