The Sludge Judge® II is made from a 1-¼" outside diameter plastic tubing resulting in double the capacity and a very rigid unit when assembled. It holds 6 oz. Per foot and can be assembled according to the requirements of the job. Add or subtract sections as needed, and the 1 ft. markers on the tubing will help identify both the depth of the tank and the amount of sludge on the bottom. The unit is made up of three 5 ft. sections (top, extension, bottom) or as individual sections. A special size cleaning brush is also available, and the carrying case shown for the Sludge Judge® can be used with this unit.

FEATURES
  • This sampling device enables you to take accurate readings on settled solids in a variety of liquids, to any depth.
  • Ideal for sewage treatment plants, chemical plants, food processing facilities... anywhere that accurate samples of solids in non-caustic materials are needed.
  • Comes in five-foot sections of 1.25" OD plastic pipe with screw type fittings. The top section includes a nylon line for raising the sampler.
  • When assembled it holds 6oz. per foot. That is double the capacity of the original Sludge Judge.

Lower the Sludge Judge II to the bottom of the tank. A float valve opens, allowing materials to flow in. When the bottom has been reached and the pipe has filled to the surface level, tug slightly on the rope as the unit is raised. This sets the check valve, trapping the column of solids and liquid in the Sludge Judge II.
When the unit has been raised clear of the liquid, the amount of solids in the sample can be read using the one foot increments marked on the pipe sections. To release the material in the unit, touch the pin extending from the bottom section against a hard surface. This opens the check valve to drain the sample.
