| Simple set up and operation |
The animal is wrapped
in the flexible heating pad, and the thermistor probe inserted rectally.
The body temperature is dialed in, and temperature alarms set if desired.
Once the animal reaches the target temperature, it is maintained to within
+0.2 degrees C or better. |
Accurate and
reliable |
The TC-1000 contains
a robust, low-voltage DC power supply for heating using a range of resistive-style
heating blankets. The microprocessor-based controller features automatic
fault detection in case of probe or blanket disconnection, blown fuses,
or other conditions. All the controller and alarm settings are stored
in non-volatile memory, and recalled the next time the unit is used. |
Expandable |
The controller circuitry
can handle heater currents up to 10A. For this purpose, external batteries
or power supplies can be connected to the rear panel binding posts. This
allows the TC-1000 to work with higher power blankets or immersion heaters. |
Standard equipment |
The TC-1000 comes
equipped with a 3mm diameter thermistor probe suitable for use with rats
and larger animals. Any standard YSI-400 series thermistor probe can also
be used interchangeably. Heating blankets (BLANKET-1 for rodent-size animals,
BLANKET-2 for cat-size animals) are sold separately. Dog-size blankets
(BLANKET-3) are also available, which must be used with an external power
supply (available as TC-1000/PC). |
