Waterra Inertial Pump

Designed for simplicity
The Waterra Inertial Pump was designed from the onset to meet four goals: simplicity, performance and quality sample collection in a package affortable enough to delicate to every well. Waterra found that by eliminating complex and over-engineered components like bladders, pistons and submersible motors that a low cost, easy to operate pump could be produced.

The final product consists only of a footvalve and a lenght of plastic tubing that when oscillated up and down in the well produces a flow of water. Our clients have found that our simple, reliable and versatile sampling system excels in performance, yet is easily affortable. In the field, Waterra has always performed beyond the expectations of such a simple design.

Features
Ease to use

The inherently simple design of Waterra pumps makes them completely intuitive in operation and require no manuals or training to operate at maximum efficiency. The simplicity of the system means little can break down, wear-out or frustrate the user. In the field simplicity means efficiency

Versability

The Waterra system saves time and additional expenses by utilizing the same pump to perform well development, purcing and sampling tasks

Well Development Well development is one of the most critical areas of groundwater monitoring practices. Typical objectives include : Removal of sediment from the filter pack and reduced sample turbidity.

Advantages
  • Reduced cost for monitoring a network of piezometers.
  • No risk of cross contamination because each piezometer rest. equipped with its valve and length of pipe.
  • Materials in contact with water are chemically inert (HDPE).
  • Excellent integrity of samples taken.
  • Reduced maintenance.
  • Introduction and withdrawal of material very quickly.

A PERFORMANCE RANGE FOR VIRTUALLY ANY WELL

Waterra has four pumping ranges to ensure that virtually any well from small diameter piezometers to large diameter, deep rock wells can be sampled efficiently. The four ranges are : Micro Flow, Low Flow, Standard Flow and High Flow. All four systems work by the same inertial principle and differ only in dimensions.

Lever Pump
Portable mechanical advantage

The Waterra Lever Pump was designed to provide operators with a convenient, portable mechanism which would provide some mechanical advantage when manually operating theWaterra Inertial Pump, as well as facilitating the collection of samples with this system.
This actuator will fasten onto most aboveground well completions quickly and easily. The tubing clamp is designed to accept Standard Flow, High Flow and Low Flow tubing and the handle is adjustable in order to accommodate various casing diameters and desired stroke lengths.
The Lever Pump weighs approximately 8 lbs (3.6 kg).

Features
• Fully adjustable
• Hinged tubing clamp
• Suitable for use with standard flow, high flow & low flow inertial pump
• Adapts to alomost any size casing or protective well casing
• One handed operation
• Reduces fatigue when purging large volumes from wells

For use with inertial pumping systems Standard Flow, High Flow, Low Flow

Hydrolift-II
High Performance Automation

The Waterra Hydrolift-2 is a portable, electrically operated device that is used to automate the operation of the Waterra Inertial Pump.
Powered by a 3/4 horsepower electric motor (available in either 110 volt or 220 volt), the Hydrolift-2 can generate a 4 inch stroke at up to 200 cycles per minute.
This actuator is optimized to operate with the Standard Flow and Low Flow Systems up to its maximum effective depth and will operate with the High Flow System up to a depth of 150 feet.
The Hydrolift-2 weighs only 35 pounds (17.25 kg) and requires an electrical power supply of at least 1000 watts.
The Hydrolift-2 is the ideal choice for the frequent user of the Inertial Pumping System with moderate to extreme pumping requirements.

Features

• Fully adjustable
• Hinged tubing clamp
• Suitable for use with standard flow, high flow & low flow inertial pumps
• Adapts to almost any size casing or protective well casing
• Anchored discharge end of tubing facilitates sample collection
• Reduces fatigue when purging large volumes from wells

Features & Specifications

Flow Rates

Flow Rates vary from well to well based on depth, well diameter, well recovery and pumping system selected. Flows as little as 0.3 gpm are sustainable with the Micro Flow system and up to 4.0 gpm with the High Flow system.
Lift Capability Waterra has flow system that operate to depths well beyond 100 feet and under certain conditions to depths approaching 230 feet. Waterra's automated pumps make sampling deep wells as easy as shallow wells and allow the sampler the freedom to perform other tasks while the pump does the work.
Range and Well Diameters Wells as small as 0.5" I.D. and wells up to 6" I.D. are easily sampled with Waterra's pumping line giving the inertial pumping system greater range than any other pump on the market.

PowerPack-PP1
power & portability

The Waterra PowerPack-PP1 provides the mechanical actuation for pumping with inertial pumps to depths of over 200 feet, in a fully portable, single operator power unit. At 28.6 lbs (13 kg), the PowerPack-PP1 provides outstanding pumping performance.
The PowerPack-PP1 is powerful enough to lift water from over 200' depth using the Standard Flow System, and is so compact that it fits onto a backpack frame. The PowerPack-PP1 incorporates clamps forWaterra High Flow and Standard Flow tubing sizes (adaptors are available for smaller tubes).
A Honda GX-25 series, 0.25 horsepower, 4 stroke, gasoline motor powers this device, which can run for approximately 1 hour without refuelling.
