Micro-Hematocrit Capillary Tubes - Plastic
Description
Globe Scientific's plastic micro hematocrit capillary tubes are completely unbreakable. They eliminate the risk of injury and contamination associated with glass tubes due to breakage. Plastic micro hematocrit capillary tubes comply with FDA, NIOSH, CDC and OSHA safety recommendations.

The tubes are available plain or with an anticoagulant (sodium or ammonium heparin) that keeps the blood from clotting. All of the tubes have color coded ends to easily identify the plain and heparin treated tubes.

Types of Tubes

  • Untreated: Blue Tip
  • Ammonium Heparinized: Green Tip
  • Sodium Heparinized: Red Tip

Packaging: 100 tubes per vial, 10 vials per box (1000 tubes per box)

Technical Info
  • Material: PETG
  • Interior Dimensions: 0.90mm ± 0.05mm
  • Outdoor Dimensions: 1.60mm ± 0.05mm
  • Length: 75mm ± 0.05mm
  • Volume: 45uL
  • Spin rate: 12,000 RPM for 4 minutes
  • Latex Free

NOTE: Only use plastic capillary tubes on micro-hematocrit centrifuge rotors that support the entire length of the tube. If the rotor only supports the tubes at two points, the tubes will bend and the sample will be lost. For rotors that support two points, use our glass capillary tubes.

If collecting anti-coagulated blood from a blood collection tube, use a plain capillary tube.

If collecting by finger stick from a patient or when using untreated blood, use capillary tubes that are treated with an anticoagulant (heparin).

Capillary Tube Accessories
Description
Globe Scientific's capillary tube sealing tray contains a unique wax compound that quickly forms a leak-tight seal. Non-toxic, non-drying and non-hardening, the sealant is formulated to withstand centrifugation. There is no need for plastic caps or heat sealing. The tray has 24 numbered places for easy patient identification.

Our pipette bulbs are designed for use with all Globe capillary tubes. They help to expel the blood from the capillary tube (if needed). They are also used when drawing blood directly from a 13mm or 16mm blood collection tube (instead of directly from a finger).

Technical Info
The expiration date for the Capillary Tube Sealant is 4 years after the date of manufacture.
