Machine Overview
The Model 6 Advanced Melt Flow System is a fully automated melt flow indexer using advanced microprocessor technology. The liquid crystal display (LCD) provides simple on screen instruction and the test parameters are entered using the alpha/numeric keypad. The apparatus includes two test types, these are the MFI and the Determination of the Polymer Density at Test Temperature.

The apparatus can also be supplied with an optional weight loader, with Purge and Hold Back facility for Low and High MFI’s.

Test results are automatically displayed on the LCD with batch statistics updated after each test which can then be downloaded to the Ray-Ran’s Techni-Test software for analysis. An RS232 and Ethernet output is provided to link the apparatus to a computer for download of test results. 

 

 

The software allows the simultaneous display of up to 6 tests in graph from and up to 10 test results in tabular form. The software will allow for almost unlimited storage of test data, with the ability to retrieve previous test results into the current test screen for comparisons.

Optional Accessories

Optional Test Weights are available to meet with the requirements laid down in all International Test Standards.

The 5.000 kg (4.675 kg) is common to the 10.000 kg, 12.500 kg & 21.600 kg. The 7.500 kg is common to the 12.000 kg & 21.600 kg. The test weights can be purchased individually as per their part number above or as a complete set giving a large cost saving on the common weights.

Different Test Dies are also available to suit different test methods and materials, Such as ISO 1133 and ASTM D1238 procedure C half-height, half diameter Die. ASTM D3364 1inch Conical Die.
